the price of shells shall be taken; when so-and-so boat goes into so-and-so kiln (the owner) of se-and-so kiln shall settle the price in full. If the price is not fully settled deductions shall be made from the deposit; and if there is still a balance due after deductions (the owner
of) the said kiln shall still be held to make it good. If
(the owner of) the said kiln has the intention to delay
payment the said boat shall deliver shells to other kilns.
The debt-owing kiln-owner must settle in full the price of shells before the various boats are allowed to deliver
him shells.
15.
Of all the boats that are desirous of being enlisted
as boats of our company each shall be paid $15 as boat
hire, wages and provisions on every 2nd and 16th days of
every month. The residue calculated according to
Regulations No. 2 shall be settled in full on every
festival.
16. Our company shall do so, if any boat-owner desires us
to collect for him the accounts due, from any kiln; our
company shall let him do so, if he wishes to collect for
himself the accounts due, from any kiln. After our company
has made up the accounts every month and has made the
deduction from the price at 3 candareens per "tau" (peck)
the residue shall be paid back to the very boat-owner for
his own use.
17.
The price of 3 candareens on each "tau" (peck) is a
temporary levy. Our company is entitled to decide and
raise an increase at any time. The power of increasing and
decreasing the price of shells is vested entirely in our
company and none can raise disputes about it.

produced along the Marine Lots Nos 1 and 2 in the Waters
of Lantao has been leased to our company by the Hongkong
